What is the importance of Art in society? Is it necessary for one to understand the level of complexity of creating a masterpiece to deem it important?

For the second article in the series, After You Leave the Classroom, I discuss the reliance of History on making Art beautiful.

Many people believe that History is the study of past and political events that have impacted a country in some way. On the other hand, Art is considered to be the aesthetic relevance of something that can be touched or seen.

It is very common for people to think that the two subjects cannot relate to one another. But they can. Art History uses historical context to add character and significance to artwork or structures.

This is important because it will help viewers understand why the artists or sculptors created such a magnificent piece of art. Art History allows one to understand the evolution of Art over a period of many years. This would include stiff or little movement in sculptures, vibrant use of color in paintings, and the overuse of dramatic effects that drapery could portray.
