3 ESSENTIAL APPS THAT EVERY College Student Needs to Download on His/Her Phone

Alarmy

For today’s blog post, I wanted to share my experiences regarding three most essential apps that I use that help me tackle the tedious and rewarding absorption of knowledge at College.

The first app is called Alarmy.

I found out about Alarmy after I stumbled upon Jessica Neistadt’s video called 10 APPS EVERY GIRL BOSS NEEDS on Youtube. This app wakes you up from that beauty sleep by forceeeeee! It requires you to fulfill a task. The tasks include solving math problems, taking a picture, shaking your phone multiple times, walking, typing as well as memorizing a game. Although the options of typing and walking are only available to premium members, there are still many options to choose from. I chose to solve math problems. Does that make me a nerd? Well, my major is Economics. Lol. I decided to solve problems because I wanted my brain to think instantly while my eyes slowly became alert. I am not going to lie. I tend to miss a couple of math problems because I am yet to master “GET UP, YEYE” the first time the alarm goes off and actually pay attention, but overall, I appreciate the app’s effort. Alarmy is also very annoying with its standard sound effects, but it gets the job done! I encourage you, college student, to use this app to make getting out of bed a learning opportunity. You should also  make it loud enough so that you can  tackle the day.

Word of the Day

Have you ever tried to find an antonym or synonym for a word for creative purposes? Well, I have. This essential app not only allows me to expand my vocabulary, but I also have the option of choosing what time I want to learn. At this moment, I have it set to 8:00 a.m., 30 minutes before my Alarmy goes off. I decided this app was a must for me because, at Grinnell, many people complained that some of the students would use complex words when simpler words could have been sufficient. Some days I would agree depending on the context while other days, I would shrug and say, “the usage of words should not be restricted.” I mean, there is no reason for people to hate those who know more words than others, and thankfully Word of the Day helps me enrich my wordlist and save my favorite words!

UniDays

UniDays is probably my favorite app out of all three essential apps. The app allows me to save money by offering me percentages while I shop at my favorite stores. Some of the stores include but are not limited to BH Cosmetics, Audible, Apple Music, Microsoft, and Boohoo. For UniDays, all you have to do is sign-up and verify your school e-mail address. You MUST be a student at a college or university to enjoy all the benefits UniDays offers. It rewards you for making the conscious effort to further your education. How cool is that?

I hope you enjoy this blog post and let me know down below your favorite app to use.
